On 16 September, 2025, Grow Asia and IUCN hosted the inaugural Southeast Asia and the Pacific Forests Investment Conference in Singapore. Convened under the GEF-8 Regional Coordination Project, this was the first regional platform dedicated to connecting capital with investment-ready forest and nature-based solutions (NbS) projects.
Key moments at the Southeast Asia and the Pacific Forests Investment Conference

“By investing through a Nature- sensitive lens—whether in forestry, agroforestry, or regenerative farming—we can deliver multiple wins: protecting biodiversity, reducing emissions, and creating inclusive economic opportunities."
Beverley Postma
Executive Director, Grow Asia
The conference brought together diverse stakeholders across government, finance, private sector, and civil society to drive blended finance for forest-positive, climate-resilient land-use systems.
"There is an urgent need to mobilize significantly more finance, including private sector capital, for primary forests both inside and outside protected areas."
Dindo Campilan
IUCN Regional Director for Asia and Hub Director for Oceania

"We need policy coherence that enables the right types of forest investments and encourages the private sector to bring innovation, resources, and expertise to the challenge."
