From COP28 in Dubai to the rice fields of the Mekong Delta

After a few intense days at COP28, Grow Asia is back in the field, convening public-private solutions to convert commitments into action.

Climate Change and Food Security were high on the agenda at Viet Nam’s International Rice Festival, where Grow Asia joined delegates from The World Bank, USAID, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, CGIAR, and SNV to witness how Viet Nam is transforming its rice sector into a world-leading model for sustainable, high-quality, low-emissions production.

Our Executive Director Beverley Postma, and Head of Partnerships, Amy Melissa Chua, joined high-level dialogues with Deputy Prime Minister Trần Lưu Quang, Minister of Agriculture Lê Minh Hoan, and senior leaders from the World Bank at a specially convened meeting to discuss the implementation of the 1 million hectare high-quality low-emissions rice program.

During these meetings, Grow Asia pledged to scale support through our Country Chapter, PSAV, to focus on delivering public-private solutions to provide farmers with:

➤ Access to Knowledge – by convening public-private partners on the PPP-Taskforce on Rice to scale up the VNSat project

➤ Access to Technology – via the Food Innovation Network and Innovation Challenge

➤ Access to Finance – via our #GrowBeyond blended finance model and loan facility for SMEs

Join us as we cultivate more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable food systems!
