Grow Asia supported the development of The Responsible Agricultural Investment (RAI) Tool for Agribusiness, developed by IISD, Cerise+SPTF, and partners with Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation support. This tool helps agribusinesses align with international principles for responsible business conduct.
It integrates guidelines like the Committee on World Food Security’s Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems, the ASEAN Guidelines on Promoting Responsible Investment in Food, Agriculture, and Forestry, and the International Finance Corporation Performance Standards into practical agribusiness operations. This tool simplifies understanding responsible practices, identifying gaps, and prioritizing improvements.
As part of the consortium developing the tool, Grow Asia collaborated closely with SMEs like Morination and Pacific Holdings to test the tool and ensure its practicality and effectiveness. This initiative demonstrates our commitment to fostering responsible investment practices in partnership with IISD, ASEAN, and FAO.
In addition to supporting the RAI Tool, Grow Asia has launched the GrowRight Public-Private Impact Fund and the ASEAN Academy on Responsible Investing. These initiatives aim to provide financial and educational resources to agribusinesses, fostering responsible and sustainable practices across the region. Our efforts are made possible with the generous support of Cargill and the Government of Japan through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
