Established by the World Economic Forum in collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat, Grow Asia is a multi-stakeholder platform that builds field-, national- and regional-level partnerships to broker market-driven solutions that cultivate inclusive, resilient and sustainable food systems in Southeast Asia. We do this by facilitating collaboration between key players from the region’s public, private, civil society and farmer organizations around macro-level issues and the development of inclusive and sustainable agriculture value chains


Grow Asia is comprised of the the regional Grow Asia Secretariat in Singapore and six Country Partnerships, each supported by an in-country team. Our Country Partnership in the Philippines - which was catalyzed by Grow Asia and the Philippine Department of Agriculture in 2015 - is called the Philippines Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture (PPSA). The PPSA brings together companies, government agencies, civil society organizations, farmer groups and financial institutions to empower and link smallholder farmers to the market with the shared goal of improving farmers’ profitability and productivity while increasing the environmental sustainability of their farms.

Today, the PPSA has brings together more than 120 organizations, who collaborate through crop-based Working Groups (i.e., coffee, coconut, corn, fisheries, and vegetables) and cross-cutting Working Groups, (i.e., agri-finance, learning alliance, digital agriculture).

The Role:

The PPSA Partnerships Manager will work directly with the PPSA  Country Director and closely with Grow Asia and PPSA’s Working Group Leads to develop and execute PPSA’s Communications and Engagement Strategy. The Partnerships Manager shall be prepared to build and maintain relationships, oversee the performance of PPSA’s communication channels, implement engagement strategies, provide support to the PPSA Working Groups, and lead the promotion of knowledge exchange among PPSA members and partners.

This role is an opportunity for learning and networking with national and international agribusinesses, development partners and counterpart ministries, as well as to learn from the other Grow Asia Country Partnerships across ASEAN. The Partnerships Manager will have the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to the sustainable development of Philippines’ agriculture sector and will gain valuable insights, networks, and experience in building an exciting member-based network.




  • Develop the PPSA Secretariat Communication and Engagement Strategy, in collaboration with the Communications Officer and the Country Director, and manage its execution.

  • Develop and manage communications governance and sign-off processes.

  • Oversee the development and packaging of communication and marketing materials and progress reports towards effectively sharing information on the efforts and outcomes of PPSA’s partners. 

  • With the Communications Officer, measure, analyze, and report on the performance of corporate communications initiatives and submit recommendations based on insights, best practices, and replicability.

  • Coordinate with the PPSA Working Group Leads in gathering information for monitoring and evaluation and performance measurement.

  • Represent Grow Asia and PPSA in national and international fora, meetings, and events.



  • Co-manage relationships with the PPSA Co-Chairs, Core Committee, and Working Group Leads, taking the lead in producing the documentations of governance meetings and monitoring the delivery of action items.

  • Work closely with Grow Asia and the PPSA Country Director to plan, deliver, and evaluate PPSA’s learning and networking events, including PPSA’s annual General Meeting and Core Committee Meetings.

  • In coordination with the Country Director, support the organization and administration of the Working Groups - this may include coordinating meetings, member engagement and following-up with action points identified during Working Group meetings.

  • Coordinate, organize, and facilitate meetings and activities of the PPSA Secretariat and selected Working Groups.

  • Develop and maintain linkages/partnerships as needed to further PPSA goals and Working Groups’ projects. The engagement tactics could include conducting exploratory meetings with corporate entities, government agencies, and other potential partners.


Knowledge Management

  • Support knowledge sharing by collecting qualitative and quantitative data to chart the Working Groups’ progress on a quarterly basis. The Partnerships Manager will also be responsible for actively identifying and sharing Working Group developments with the PPSA network, through project profiles and case studies.

  • Identify leads and potential engagement approaches towards expanding the membership and partnership base of the PPSA Network.


Resource Mobilization

  • Work with the Country Director in exploring resource mobilization initiatives towards financial stability and sustainability.

  • Work with the Country Director in the development of funding and project proposals as part of the Secretariat’s resource mobilization efforts.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • University Degree in communications, social sciences or business.

  • Demonstrated experience in communications or corporate affairs. Experience in agriculture and/or a corporate or member-based organizational setting is preferred.

  • Excellent communications skills, including fluent written and spoken Filipino and English.

  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.

  • Credibility and confidence in dealing with people in senior positions.

  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, geographically dispersed team.

  • Excellent eye for details and design.

  • Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office and social media management.

  • Ability to travel when needed.

  • Experience using SurveyMonkey and Mailchimp is beneficial.

  • Experience in using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro is beneficial.

  • Experience in using CRM applications such as Insightly is beneficial.
